Dirk Nowitzki doesn't think he had 'enough left in the tank' in Game 7

The eighth-seeded Dallas Mavericks gave the San Antonio Spurs a run for their money in the first round of the NBA playoffs and forced a Game 7. The Mavericks weren’t able to get to make that final game competitive though, and Mavericks superstar Dirk Nowitzki said during exit interviews that he thought he ran out of gas.

“Yeah, it’s been a lot of games, especially in the playoffs,” Nowitzki said Monday, via the Dallas Morning News. “I averaged almost 40 minutes and playing every other night. That was a bit much.

“I don’t think I had enough left in the tank yesterday to really take this thing over and take it to another level, which is disappointing. But hey, it happened. I felt great for 100 games. I only missed two games and I feel great for that.”
