LSU QB Zach Mettenberger 'generated a dilute urine sample' at the Combine

The NFL Draft is just days away, and all the attention in the NFL is focused on that. Unfortunately for Louisiana State quarterback Zachary Mettenberger, that includes some negative press stemming from the NFL Combine in February.

From Pro Football Talk on NBCSports.com:

Mettenberger generated a dilute urine sample at the Scouting Combine.

The NFL’s drug-testing policies typically treat a diluted sample as a positive sample.

Most agencies treat diluted samples as positives, so that doesn’t really come as a surprise. Of course PFT is reporting that Mettenberger’s physical therapist is blaming his ACL rehab on the dilution, claiming he was only trying to fight of dehydration.

The NFL will decide whether they’re buying that excuse or not and teams will have to decide if Mettenberger is worth the pick, this issue coupled with his ACL injury is a lot of baggage.
