It was a rough week for the Milwaukee Brewers. They got beat up a little bit by the Cincinnati Reds and then lost Ryan Braun to the disabled list. It just goes to show how impressive their start has been that they are still 21-11 and still worthy of the top spot in the MLB power rankings for week six.
That said, the relative mediocrity of most of the rest of the teams in baseball helps their case. The Oakland A’s, Detroit Tigers, and San Francisco Giants join the Brewers as teams that have clearly distinguished themselves. Otherwise, we are left with any number of questions.
- Do you trust the Colorado Rockies and their hot start?
- Do you still believe in the St. Louis Cardinals?
- What on earth is going on in the American League East, exactly?
- Have you taken a moment to notice the Miami Marlins?
That only scratches the surface of the intriguing questions as we embark upon another set of power rankings, with no more clarity in the middle of the pack than we had last week.
