NBA Rumors: Steve Kerr likely to be hired as Knicks head coach this week

According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, Game 1 between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Clippers tonight and it could very well be his last TNT broadcast for a very long time.

Steve Kerr is scheduled to broadcast Game 1 of the second-round NBA playoff series between the Thunder and the Clippers in Oklahoma City on Monday night with longtime TNT partner Marv Albert. That could be Kerr’s last telecast, with a league source saying matters with the Knicks should progress this week.

There has been absolutely no competition for Kerr when it comes to the Knicks job as it’s been his job to lose from the start. Phil Jackson had his eye on Kerr for a while and it seems that the particulars of the deal were all that needed to be worked out.

It sounds like the finer details of Kerr’s contract with the Knicks are worked out and his inevitable hiring in New York will likely come this week.
