The 6’5, 175-pound McQuaid is from Duncanville, Texas and attends Duncanville High School.
After visiting SMU back in August and again in January, he got a look at another school in March when he headed to Creighton to check out what the Blue Jays had to offer. Over the weekend, he finally decided to pull the trigger and select the Mustangs.
McQuaid is ranked as the country’s seventh-best shooting guard, the seventh-best overall prospect in the state of Texas and the 55th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
McQuaid also had offers from the Blue Jays, Alabama Crimson Tide, Baylor Bears and Boise State Broncos, among others.
He becomes the second verbal commitment for the Mustangs in the class of 2015, joining 3-star point guard Sedrick Barefield, who pledged to the Mustangs back in February.
