Kevin Durant gives amazing NBA MVP acceptance speech (Video)

While he continues on his quest to capture his first NBA Championship, Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant was honored with his first NBA MVP trophy on Tuesday. While some people tried to make the case for LeBron James to win, there really was no doubt that Durant was the most deserving of the honor, averaging 32 points, 7.4 rebounds and 5.5 assists on the season.

After being officially handed the honor Tuesday, Durant then gave one of the more memorable acceptance speeches in quite some time, with a shout out to his mother at the end that will surely make you tear up.

This is Durant’s seventh season in the NBA, and again, this is one trophy that has eluded him on his path to becoming a future Hall of Famer.

Now with this in the bag, and the awesome speech to go along with it that will be remembered forever, Durant and his Oklahoma City teammates can now put their focus on the prize of bringing that NBA title trophy to Oklahoma for the first time.
