NBA Rumors: Kevin Ollie refutes scheduled meeting with Los Angeles Lakers

Kevin Ollie is rumored to be at the forefront of the Los Angeles Lakers coaching search after the Connecticut Huskies head coach guided his team to the NCAA title in April. Reports circulated that Ollie would be meeting with the team to potentially replace Mike D’Antoni who resigned from the position after the season, but Ollie took to Twitter to refute those reports.

Is this just more coach-speak we often hear when a name is mentioned in connection with another job and he doesn’t want his players to feel abandoned?

Perhaps, but it could also mean that Ollie is genuinely happy at Connecticut and isn’t interested in leaving college for the NBA, at least not for the Lakers job, but would he leave if the Oklahoma City Thunder job opener?
