Notre Dame football recruiting: 3-star WR C.J. Sanders commits to Fighting Irish

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish went down into SEC country to get their latest commitment in the class of 2015.

On Tuesday, 3-star wide receiver C.J. Sanders, formerly of the Brentwood Academy in Tennessee, committed to the Irish.

SEC country will soon be Pac-12 country for the 5’9″, 177-pounder will be moving back to his original home of California. He will now live in Sherman Oaks, California.

Sanders is ranked as the country’s 44th-best wide receiver prospect, the 47th-best overall prospect in the state of California and he 357th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.

The popular notion is that Sanders would attend Stanford or Tennessee, choosing one of the two states he lived in, but instead chose the Irish over offers from both of those schools, the Duke Blue Devils, Georgia Bulldogs, Mississippi State Bulldogs and Northwestern Wildcats, among others.
