Major League Baseball asks a lot of its umpires and that could be part of the reason for the expanded instant replay that was introduced this season, but while balls and strikes and bang-bang plays can make umpires look bad in the eyes of at least half of the fans watching a particular game, one thing that should never be in question is their professionalism

However, after what happened in the game between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim lend further credence to the notion that Diaz is one of the worst umpires in the game after his look-at-me moment with Yankees pitcher Shawn Kelley.

After Joe Girardi came out to take Kelley out of the game after he issued his fourth walk of the inning, Diaz inserted himself into the game and taunted the Yanks pitcher with dismissive gestures and what appears to be him saying, “keep walking.”

Kelley was not the only Yankee ejected that night as Diaz also rung up Girardi and the Yankee skipper went ballistic.

How does Diaz still keep his job when he has a history of being in the middle of moments like this?

Surely, there has to be some umpires who carry themselves with more class and professionalism than this display.
