Last year, the Virginia Cavaliers surprised many when they were able to keep a couple of 5-star prospects in state, getting both defensive tackle Andrew Brown and safety Quin Blanding to sign with the Cavaliers.
On Tuesday, they took a big step towards having a second straight improved recruiting class when 3-star quarterback Nick Johns gave his pledge to the Cavaliers.
I am committed to play quarterback for the University of Virginia. Again, I want to thank all of the coaches who recruited me. #HOOS

Johns became the third commitment for the Cavaliers in the class of 2015, joining 3-star athlete Juan Thornhill out of Altavista, Georgia and offensive tackle Ryan Bischoff out of Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania.
The 6’3, 215-pound Johns is from Washington, D.C. and attends Gonzaga High School. Johns is ranked as the country’s 21st-best pro style quarterback, the seventh-best overall prospect in D.C. and the 529th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Johns also had offers from the Maryland Terrapins and North Carolina State Wolfpack, among others.
