Much has been made as to who will be the next coach of the Golden State Warriors in the aftermath of the franchise parting ways with Mark Jackson. Now, there have been odds (yes, odds) released as to who be the next “full time” head coach in the Bay Area.

Here are the released odds, via Bovada.lv:

  • Stan Van Gundy – 3 to 2
  • Steve Kerr – 5 to 2
  • Lionel Hollins – 9 to 2
  • Mike D’Antoni – 5 to 1
  • George Karl – 7 to 1
  • Fred Hoiberg – 7 to 1
  • Kevin Ollie – 7 to 1

This collection of coaches is a compilation between names that have already been linked to the Golden State opening with a couple of top-tier coaches who were previously available. Steve Kerr is the highest profile guy on the list at this moment, and it has been rumored that it is virtually his job to turn down. On the flip side, Stan Van Gundy has the “best” odds to land the job here, as he is widely considered to be the best coach on the market and he could have interest in a quality roster.

Mike D’Antoni has also been linked to the job in conjunction with former Lakers and Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy (seemingly unlikely), but if the top options fall through, it wouldn’t be a shock to see Golden State turn to the college route to entertain either Fred Hoiberg or Kevin Ollie. All told, this is a wide open race (especially if Kerr spurns their reported overtures), and things could get interesting in a hurry.
