Brewers Jim Henderson likely out longer than 15 days

The Brewers placed Jim Henderson on the disabled list on Friday with shoulder inflammation, and it sounds as if they will be without one of their setup men for longer than expected.

Ron Roenicke told the media, including Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, that Henderson will probably need more time than the 15-day DL allots.

Henderson will likely need to make a rehab appearance with one of the team’s minor league affiliates.

The one-time closer for the Brew Crew hasn’t been nearly as effective this season, posting an ERA of 7.15 in 14 games, although he has seen his K/BB ratio improve to 4.25. The longer Henderson stays out, the more the Milwaukee bullpen has to work, and it has been working plenty over the first month of the season.
