What we already assumed is now all but set in stone: the iPhone 6, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 will all feature fingerprint sensors.
In a report from China, we are made aware the first set of Touch ID sensors for the new products are already complete. As first reported by cecb2b.com, the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company is going to be providing the assembly of Apple’s fingerprint sensors.
Apple made a deal with the TSMC last summer in order to reduce its reliance on Samsung. While Apple designs their own chips, they relied upon Samsung to manufacture the technology.
While this development doesn’t provide and release date details for Apple’s next line of products, it does remind us that Apple is hard at work on its next line of products. Though the fingerprint technology makes the most sense on the iPhone, there was no doubt that Apple would eventually place the technology across its product line.
