While Ralph Wilson Stadium may be suitable for play now, the Buffalo Bills will eventually need a new building to call home if the team hopes to remain in Buffalo for the long term.

This week, a firm was hired to help move that process along, and scout new locations for the next Bills stadium.

According to The Associated Press, AECOM has been hired to identify three to four different sites in the western New York region that could potentially serve as the new stadium’s location. Attorney Irwin Raij will work with the firm to find suitable spaces.

“We want to present a long-term solution that will keep the Bills in western New York for decades to come,” Raij told the AP. “Someone is going to buy the team, and we want them to have the best information available in order to give them confidence in the region and the widespread support the team has in it.”

AECOM will begin looking at areas on Monday. The company has until July 11 to submit its findings to the state.
