The Philadelphia Eagles could use a playmaker in the secondary. Safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix would very much like to become that player. But as these things go on the NFL Draft, things just are not that simple.
According to CSN Philly’s Geoff Mosher, Dix has made it clear to the Eagles that he wants them to find a way to draft him:
Clinton-Dix…considered the elite safety prospect for the NFL draft, would happily embrace the pressure and expectations that would come if the Eagles picked him in the first round Thursday night.
He even sent a text message to Eagles director of player personnel Ed Marynowitz, a former Alabama football recruiter, to lobby for his friend to make it happen.
‘He sent me an article and I was on the front of it, about going to Philly and what not,’ Clinton-Dix said Wednesday at an NFL Play60 event in Manhattan involving the prospects invited to Radio City Music Hall. ‘I told him to tell them to come get me, please. Whatever it takes.’
The Eagles have their work cut out for them if they are going to move up enough slots to land Clinton-Dix, not to mention the fact that they have some other needs to address. It should be addressing to see if they try to heed the Alabama safety’s request or not.
Clinton-Dix discussed his desire to land with the Eagles at an NFL Play 60 event on Wednesday. More about that can be found below.
