The NFL Draft this year is impossible to predict, mores than any other year as there seems to be more trade activity in the first five picks than we’ve seen in recent drafts. But while there are talks of teams moving around, it seems that the players they’re moving around for are pretty much the same.

Right now it looks like mostly offensive players that teams want to move up to get and as a result one name has taken a huge jump in the projections in the 11th hour before the draft. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, it would be a surprise if Texas A&M wide receiver Mike Evans didn’t go in the top five of the draft as he’s expected to go immediately after Sammy Watkins is off the board.

Watkins is the hands down best receiver in the draft and no one is taking any other receiver over him. But Evans has long been considered a close second to Watkins which is why it’s of no surprise that he’s rising in the top 10 as the draft approaches.

The question is will he go in the top 5, as projections are often wrong. But if all goes well, Evans will no doubt be gone in the top 10 and may be ripe at the No. 5 overall pick and whoever selects in that slot.
