Crafty veteran move here by Pablo Sandoval.

Brandon Belt takes off for second. Sandoval, trying to protect the runner, swings way late and sort of stumbles across the plate to get in the way of Tony Sanchez’s throw.

The throw is wide of the bag by a lot, and Belt gets to third on the error.

Jon Miller seems befuddled by Sandoval’s actions there. But it’s pretty clear what Sandoval was trying to do. And Miller knows it, but he’s covering for his player.

He knows that Sandoval swung late and fell across the plate to get in the way of the throw. Sorry Miller, but no one is fooled by your little innocent “what the heck was going on there?” act.

It was a totally illegal move by Sandoval that he got away with. So, it falls under the category of veteran guile.

He pulled a Pierzynski.

If he did this against the Braves, Fredi Gonzalez would call for a federal investigation. Because Fredi Gonazalez is the worst.
