Philadelphia Flyers to name new GM

The Philadelphia Flyers have announced a press conference for Wednesday morning where they are expected to announce the promotion of current general manager Paul Holmgren as well as the hiring of the team’s new GM.

Holmgren is expected to be named the new President of the Flyers. Taking over as GM for the team will be former goaltender Ron Hextall, according to FanSided’s Flyers website Section 215. Hextall was brought over from the Los Angeles Kings organization last offseason as the eventual successor to Holmgren at the position.

Nothing official has been announced just yet, but as soon as it is, FanSided will have full updates.
