A trade involving Jadeveon Clowney

Let’s start with the most ambiguous one. Some of the best stories told in the NFL start with the Draft Day slight. What makes Clowney fascinating is that he might be a transcendent talent and yet there is still talk that the Houston Texans might be willing to let another team take him. If the Texans do not select him, any other story will be a supremely interesting one.

If there is a scenario where a team like the Atlanta Falcons has a chance to make a godfather offer and trade up to grab Clowney, it could be a franchise-defining transaction in the short term for multiple teams. The “what if” scenarios would be plentiful whether Clowney meets the lofty expectations set for him in his pro career or not.

If you are a fan of any team that might be involved in a Clowney trade it would be a white-knuckle Thursday night for you. But for the rest of us it would be just be interesting. And we love interesting.
