The Atlanta Falcons were a mystery when it came to what they’d end up doing in the draft but the time has come for the final decision to come down. as it turns out, they ended up keeping the No. 6 overall pick as there was talk of the Falcons may trade up but nothing came to fruition.

Instead, the Falcons stood pat and ended up drafting Jake Matthews from Texas A&M with the No. 6 overall pick.

The pick makes a lot of sense for the Falcons as it gives them someone who can fill a big hole on the roster that they needed shored up in the long haul. Matt Ryan needs to be protected and that’s what Matthews will provide the Falcons.
