The Buffalo Bills are currently sitting as the proud owners of the No. 9 overall pick, but it looks like they are determined to make a big splash in Round 1 on Thursday night. Buffalo is hoping for a true impact partner and they have not stopped picking up the phone to call teams sitting in the top five picks.

In fact, they have their eyes set on the top three.

From the Buffalo News:

"The Buffalo Bills are expected to continue their efforts to acquire one of the top two or three picks when the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft commences tonight. The Bills have been rumored as a trade-up candidate for weeks. Buffalo still was in the mix of teams making calls around the league about a potential deal for one of the top two or three picks, two NFL sources said Wednesday. The target would be a big impact player, either defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, offensive tackle Greg Robinson or receiver Sammy Watkins."

The idea of pairing Clowney with Mario Williams is very intriguing, considering both men are two of the most freakish athletes to ever step onto the NFL field. Watkins would provide a weapon on the outside for Manuel, while Robinson would keep Manuel standing upright.

If Buffalo could land in the top three picks, you would have to call their day one strategy a huge success.
