The Atlanta Falcons are one of the teams in the 2014 NFL Draft that have been linked to trade talks for the No. 1 overall pick, but as time is running out for the team to execute a move to the top of the draft order it appears that they have accepted defeat.

Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff admitted that it is “highly unlikely” the Falcons move up to the No. 1 spot, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

However, that doesn’t mean the Falcons have completely ruled out a trade up.

If Buffalo pass rusher Khalil Mack is available when the Cleveland Browns are on the clock with the No. 4 pick, there is a good chance Atlanta could make a call to see if they can leapfrog the Oakland Raiders to land the pass rusher that they covet.

We will find out whether or not the Falcons end up making a move in a few hours.
