NFL Draft rumors: Giants would ‘seriously consider’ Johnny Manziel at No. 12
By Josh Sanchez
By now you are probably sick of hearing about Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel and where he will be playing his professional ball, but as the 2014 NFL Draft approaches there are continuously reports surfacing about which team will pull the trigger and make him their pick.
The latest team linked to Manziel is the New York Giants.
According to the Newark Star-Ledger, a person with “knowledge of the team’s draft philosophy” says the team would “seriously consider” Manziel if he fell to No. 12.
Out of all of the teams reportedly interested in drafting Manziel, the Giants seem the least likely.
It could always be possible that the team is simply showing interest at this stage of the game to lure the division rival Dallas Cowboys ahead of them and have a player they covet fall into their laps as a result.
One this is for sure, however, and that is that no one has any idea how this year’s draft is going to play out.
