It seems every year we have that one pick which shocks everyone who tried to predict the draft order correctly and stands out, if just initially, as a wildly insane pick. Last year the Miami Dolphins trading up to draft Dion Jordan was that pick, and later in the round we saw the Bills jump all other quarterbacks on the board to draft E.J. Manuel.

We may see that again at No. 3 overall this year as the Jacksonville Jaguars have ‘keen interest’ in Mike Evans, according to NFL Network’s Jeff Darlington.

This seems to make some real sense, as there have been reports of a team atop the draft who has Evan above perennial favorite Sammy Watkins on their draft board. Another report form this past week stated that Evans is likely to go right after Watkins is picked in the top five.

It’s impossible to say if the Jaguars are the team with Evans projected higher than Watkins, but given Darlington’s report it seems likely that they could be.
