Back in January it was revealed that Nintendo was planning on moving its brand into the mobile market. During Wednesday’s year-end investor briefing, the company finally shared details regarding that expansion, and just what the apps will look like.
According to analyst David Gibson, who was in attendance at the briefing, Nintendo will release a mobile app that will pair with Mario Kart 8. The Mario Kart TV app will be able to access all saved highlight videos and player rankings.
The release of the app is scheduled for the end of the current fiscal year — March 31, 2015.
Mike’s Musings: This first jump into the mobile market is as basic as basic comes for Nintendo. I’m more interested in what the second, third and fourth apps they release will be.
