In the long and sordid history of quarterbacks playing for the Cleveland Browns since reforming in 1999, fans have apparently never lost hope…or a sense of humor.
Once again, the Browns have taken a “franchise-saving” quarterback when they selected Johnny Manziel with the 22nd pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, and much like Lord Stanley’s Cup, the name of Manziel has been added to the lexicon of fallen passers that adorn the seemingly cursed jersey. When you see it plastered on the back of a jersey like that, it really hits home.
No word as to if Johnny Football (sorry…are we allowed to say that without paying royalties?) has filed papers to have the jersey trademarked.
