Anaheim Ducks’ Frederik Andersen sustains lower body injury

The Anaheim Ducks rookie goaltender Frederik Andersen was injured during Game 3 against the Los Angeles Kings. Being the surprise starter, he played an excellent game throughout the majority of the game.

Jonas Hiller had been in net during both Game 1 and Game 2 losses to the Kings, creating a chance for Andersen to start. Unfortunately, halfway through the third period, Anderson left the ice and did not return. Ducks coach, Bruce Boudreau stated that he is being considered day-to-day with a lower body injury.

Hiller replaced Andersen after the injury occurred, thus being credited with the win. It is being said that if Andersen is not ready for Game 4, John Gibson may be recalled from Norfolk of the American Hockey League.

No further details have been given of his injury and only time will tell if he is dressed come Game 4 on Saturday.
