After a long wait that neither he nor a lot of other people expected, Johnny Manziel was selected 22nd overall by the Cleveland Browns after they traded up with the Philadelphia Eagles to get the player they’ve coveted for quite a while now.
Of course, though, now the question is when will Manziel see the field, especially since new head coach Mike Pettine has stated that he is opposed to starting a rookie quarterback, regardless of who it was going to be.
Well, he apparently is not wavering on that statement, even with the selection of the most popular player in the draft.
Mike Pettine said drafting Manziel doesn’t change his plan to NOT start a rookie quarterback.

As much as this sounds all well and good, the fact of the matter is that the brief association with Manziel and the organization is already paying dividends as season ticket sales have already begun to skyrocket.
It’s very easy to say Manziel won’t be the starter now, but as camps and the summer move along, the pressure is only going to become greater to put Johnny Football on the field and prove that first-round worth.
