The Cleveland Browns were one of the winners in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft on Thursday. They made some moves around the board, and even ended up with one of the players they wanted in Johnny Manziel. One position they did not end up with, which they were rumored to be coveting, was a wide receiver, which the team could address Friday in the second round.

This draft has been considered one of the deepest ever at the wideout slot, although if it was up to the current leader of the Browns’ wide receiver corps, Josh Gordon, he would love to see the team go out and grab former USC star Marqise Lee.

“We have a lot of wide receivers right now on our team that we just picked up on, but I’m actually a fan of Marqise Lee,” Gordon said on “SVP & Russillo” on ESPN Radio. “I don’t believe he got picked yet. That would be a great addition. I know we have an early second-round pick. We’ll see.”

There were quite a few people, yours truly included, that were a little shocked that Lee did fall out of the first round, but there are some injury concerns that teams have.

But in the end, when healthy, Lee could be one of the most versatile, elite wide receivers in the NFL and would help mightily with the transition of their first-round quarterback pick, Manziel, into the NFL.
