Pitcher Matt Cain will return to the mound and start on Saturday for the San Francisco Giants in a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Cain has recently been taken off of the disabled list after cutting his finger. He hasn’t played since originally being scratched on April 29th.
Giants coach Bruce Bochy stated that as long as there are no further setbacks, Cain is good to go to start on Saturday.
Cain’s response to the injury: “It feels like a finger.”
I guess that sums it up. I’m sure Cain is just glad to put an unfortunate slip of a knife past him.
Yusmeiro Petit started for Cain on Monday and gave up far too many runs to the Pittsburgh Pirates. It will be great for Giants fans to see Cain back on the mound. Hopefully his short stint on the disabled list will have him ready to go to beat such a huge rival such as the Dodgers.
