The Baltimore Orioles signed 27 year old Cuban outfielder Henry Urrutia in 2011 after failing to defect from Cuba back in 2010.. Urrutia made his Major League Debut with the big league club on July 20, 2013 but hasn’t made much noise with his bat.
Urrutia has been slowed down by a couple things to start off the 2014 season, mainly a shoulder problem during Spring Training. He experienced some shoulder soreness here and there so it wasn’t the greatest start to the new campaign. Just when he thought he was about to get over the hill, he rolls back down yet again.
According to Roch Kubatko on Twitter, the Cuban outfielder will miss anywhere between six to eight weeks after undergoing sports hernia surgery this past Tuesday.

The season is still early, but it looks like it may be nothing but a disaster for this young outfielder. Definitely a tough break for someone who is trying to keep himself on the 40-man roster. Hopefully things get better later on in the season.
