The Players Championship is underway from TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. This is one of golf’s biggest annual tournaments and is sometimes considered the “unofficial fifth major.” The course features the iconic 17th hole on what is almost an island (pictured above.)
The second round isn’t over yet, but Martin Kaymer sits atop the leader board at -12 after a -3 performance on Friday. In second place is Russell Henley at -8 through six holes at the time this posted.
And everyone’s favorite from The Masters, the young Jordan Spieth is sitting in third place with a -7 score, he is -2 so far on Friday through six holes. Spieth could make another run at a championship in a large tournament, one that has one of the largest purses in all of the sport.
The Masters winner Bubba Watson finished the second round with an even score and remained at -3 for the tournament. Rory McIlroy is having a rough day and is +3 through five holes and is sitting at one-over-par.
