Anaheim Ducks battling injured lineup headed into Game 4

The Anaheim Ducks are preparing to face the Los Angeles Kings in Game 4 on Saturday with a very injured lineup. Currently, there are three players who are questionable come game time.

Mathieu Perreault, Frederik Andersen and Matt Beleskey all left Game 3 with lower body injuries. Coach Bruce Boudreau made the following statement:

“At this stage, we have to wait. Any time it’s a goalie, it’s a little bit different than with a regular player, but we’ll see. Matt Beleskey is questionable, has to have some tests done. Perreault, we’ll see.”

As is the norm during the hockey playoff season, vague statements are keeping everyone guessing about the health of these players.. With tests looming, it is unlikely that Beleskey will be playing. Perreault, there’s a chance. Andersen’s injury is creating a lack of goaltenders for the Ducks. Gibson was recalled from the AHL, so there’s a bit of leeway. However, Andersen healthy would be ideal.

This many injuries in a playoff series can have a detrimental impact on the team. Surprisingly the Kings have a 2-1 lead in the series against the Pacific Division champions. Even with the injuries, there is a huge amount of talent throughout the Ducks lines, however Ben Lovejoy stated it best when saying “ we have three guys on our team that are probably irreplaceable.”
