The Baylor Bears added their ninth commitment in the class of 2015 when they received a commitment from 3-star cornerback Jordan Tolbert on Friday.
Tolbert was committed to the Houston Cougars, but announced his decommitment in April. He chose the Bears largely in part thanks to their coaching staff.
“I like the coaching staff and I can go there and get a good education,” Tolbert told John Werner of The Waco Tribune. “I knew it was the right place to go. The new stadium is going to be real nice.”
The 5’11.5, 165-pounder is from Missouri City, Texas and attends Ridge Point High School.
Tolbert is ranked as the country’s 57th-best cornerback prospect, the 92nd-best overall prospect in the state of Texas and the 758th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Tolbert has received a slew of offers since deciding against the Cougars. His offers include the Arizona State Sun Devils, California Golden Bears, Oklahoma Sooners, Texas Longhorns, TCU Horned Frogs, Washington State Cougars, and Wisconsin Badgers, among others.
