The Miami Heat are by far the more dominant team in the Eastern Conference Semifinals matchup against the Brooklyn Nets, but there are things that can happen which send things off track a little. It’s assumed that the Heat are bound to lose a game before hoisting a third straight NBA title and something like an injury can nudge us all towards that inevitability.
Dwyane Wade has been nagged by injuries al year long and he suffered dual injuries on one play against the Nets — a finger injury and a brain injury. After getting his finger tangled in a mess of Nets going for a rebound, Wade came up holding his finger but made a play on the ball with his foot.
We can assume that Wade was a little more preoccupied with his finger than he was with what you can legally touch the ball with to keep it in play. Still, the Heat need Wade healthy and making smart plays which was the exact opposite of what we saw packed into one play.
