The New York Jets are almost always projected to take a quarterback each year and this seemed to be the one year they wouldn’t be making a splash at that position. After all, they drafted Geno Smith last year and signed Michael Vick this offseason but that didn’t stop them from taking a quarterback in the sixth round.

With the 213th overall pick in the draft, Tajh Boyd from Clemson was selected by the New York Jets which means the Tigers’ gunslinger will be headed to New York this season.

There’s a very good chance that Boyd makes the roster, as he seems to be what the team thought Tim Tebow might have been a few years ago but only a lot better. Boyd scored a lot of touchdowns with his feet and from within striking distance of the goal line, which means any special packages the Jets make for Boyd will be meaningful ones that actually work.

Either way, there were questions about Boyd even being drafted but the kid from Clemson is headed to New York to become the third wheel in the New York Jets quarterback carousel.
