Undrafted free agents 2014: Cleveland Browns to sign Connor Shaw

As is the case every year, once the draft comes to an end, there are many players still looking for a home. Usually, those undrafted players quickly sign with a team and get ready to go to work. Often times it is better for a player to go undrafted instead of getting picked in the final round. Players can assess their situation and see if a team has a need at their position or has shown a lot of interest in them. In some cases, players simply choose to stay closer to home.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer, former South Carolina Gamecocks’ quarterback Connor Shaw has signed with the Browns.

Although the Browns drafted Johnny Manziel, the team has been hunting for several quarterbacks so it could be a good fit for Shaw.

Shaw completed 180 of 284 passes for 2,447 yards with 24 touchdowns and one interception last season.
