Erick Silva taken out on stretcher, but receives 'clean bill of health'


No one will question Erick Silva’s heart. Last night, Silva threw down with No. 7 ranked Welterweight, Matt Brown in an epic battle that saw both men hurt many times. After nearly finishing Brown in the first minute of the fight, Silva endured a hellacious beating at the hands of Brown for the next three rounds.

In the end, Brown’s pressure and punishment was too much for Silva and referee Herb Dean called a stop to the bout in the third. As Silva lay on the floor, a scary scene began to unfold.

Although the scene was nerve-wracking, Dana White broke the news on Twitter that Silva was indeed okay and will be able to fly home today:
