The third baseman left Saturday’s game with a hamstring issue which tests later revealed as a strain, resulting in the team placing him on the disabled list.
Here’s what we know: Aramis Ramirez is headed to DL. But corresponding move depends on Braun’s health & Gomez’s suspension.
Milwaukee is hopeful to get Braun back in the somewhat near future, so the loss of Ramirez won’t leave such a burden on the lineup despite his early season struggles.
As for the hot corner, it’s believe Mark Reynolds will handle the third base duties will Ramirez is sidelined.
The Brewers aren’t sure how long Ramirez will need on the disabled list, though, hamstring strains can be irritating in nature and have the tendency to linger longer than the standard 15-day disabled list stint.
In addition to the Braun and Ramirez injuries, the Brewers are also dealing with the pending suspension of Carlos Gomez thanks to the scuffle with the Pittsburgh Pirates earlier this month.
