Matt Brown is the epitome of a warrior. Just a minute into his Welterweight clash with Erick Silva, Brown was crippled by a devastating body kick. As he crumbled to the mat in pain, it seemed that the end was looming. Brown’s incredible win streak was in very real danger, but he would not give up so easily.
As Silva landed hammerfist after hammerfist in attempt to end the fight, Brown valiantly survived to come back and hurt Silva later on in the round. Ultimately, Brown bludgeoned Silva for the next two rounds before finishing him via TKO in the third.
It was an unbelievable performance by Brown and easily one of the best fights of the year. With the win, Brown extended his streak to 7 in a row, including his last 5 by TKO/KO.
After the fight, Brown asked Dana White for a title shot against Johny Hendricks next:
Dana would not commit to giving Brown a title fight just yet. Although he has won 7 straight, none of Brown’s wins have come against a top 10 opponent. Regardless, I doubt any MMA fan would argue if Brown was given a title shot based on his performance last night.
