The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Gets Ousted by Some Bad Neighbors

Despite owning the Box Office on its opening weekend, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was unable to hold the Top Spot at the Box Office this weekend, as it was ousted by a group of really bad Neighbors.

Debuting this weekend in the top spot is the new comedy Neighbors starring Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, and Zac Efron. The film brought in an estimated $51 million at the Box Office over the weekend. This beat out Spidey by almost $20 million.

Speaking of Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 fell one spot from last week to the number two slot. Our favorite web-slinger brought in an estimated $37.2 million over the weekend, bringing the film’s domestic total to $147.9 million. The film has performed substantially better in the foreign Box Office. When you add on the $403 million the film has earned overseas, Spidey has earned an estimated $550.9 million worldwide.

Also down one spot from last week is The Other Woman. The revenge comedy brought in an estimated $9.3 million over the weekend. This brings the film’s three week domestic total to $61.7 million. Not too shabby for a film made on a $40 million budget.

Coming in fourth this weekend is the inspirational tale Heaven is For Real. The story, based on the best-selling novel of the same name by author Todd Burpo, brought in an estimated $7 million over the weekend. This brings the film’s four week domestic total to $12 million.

Filling out the Top 5 this weekend is another superhero tale, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Cap brought in an estimated $5.6 million over the weekend, bringing its six week domestic total to $245 million. Captain America is another film that is performing substantially better in the Foreign Box Office. When you tack on the $450.6 million the film has brought in overseas, Captain America has a worldwide gross of approximately $695.6 million.

Also debuting this week is comedy Moms’ Night Out, which debuted in the seventh spot earning in estimated $4.2 million over the weekend. Another film making its debut over the weekend is the animated film Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return. The film brought in approximately $3.7 million over the weekend.

There is a very good chance that we may see another change in the tide next week. Hitting the Box Office this weekend is the epic looking reboot to the Godzilla franchise from director Gareth Edwards. Judging by the trailers and TV Spots we have witnessed, the film is shaping up to be pretty amazing. Unfortunately, we will have to wait an entire week to see if moviegoers share our opinion.
