Blue Jays recall Chad Jenkins, Jonathan Diaz from Triple-A

The Toronto Blue Jays are trying to avoid falling victim to a four game sweep against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim tonight but made several roster moves before game-time.

The Blue Jays have recalled right-handed pitcher Chad Jenkins from Triple-A Buffalo. Jenkins will be making his second stint with the big league club this season as he’s allowed three earned runs in just three innings this season as a reliever.

With Sergio Santos being added to the disabled list and another player coming up – Toronto optioned catcher Erik Kratz to Triple-A Buffalo according to Shi Davidi on Twitter. Kratz has two home runs, six RBI’s and three strikeouts with a batting line of  .231/.231/.462 in 26 at-bats before he was sent back down to the farm.

Infielder Jonathan Diaz will provide the team with some middle infield depth for the second time this season with the Blue Jays. Diaz holds a somewhat weak batting line of .176/.282/.206 in 41 plate appearances.
