Colorado Rockies pitcher Jorge De La Rosa was scheduled to start in the upcoming two game series against the Kansas City Royals. Due to back spasms, De La Rosa will be sitting this one out.
Franklin Morales is being rumored to get the start in Del La Rosa’s absence.
Rockies trainer, Keith Dugger made the following statement:
“He probably could make the start if we wanted him to, but it’s better that we have him throw a bullpen Tuesday, back him up a couple of days.”
The Rockies have both Monday and Thursday off this week. Manager Walt Weiss is using this to his advantage:
“The off days allow us to reset our rotation and give De La Rosa a couple of days. We felt like the timing worked out.”
De La Rosa is expected to start against the San Diego Padres come Friday.
