Edmonton Oilers sign Anton Lander to contract extension

The Edmonton Oilers announced today that the franchise has come to an agreement with center Anton Lander to sign a one year contract extension.

Lander has played 94 games with the NHL and currently has two goals and eight points. Throughout the 2013 – 2014 season, Lander had a minus ten ranking with the Oilers.

A native of Sweden, Lander has been given another opportunity to excel within the NHL. His rankings overall are nothing great, but as a minor leaguer, he had an impressive 52 points in 46 games.

Perhaps Lander is having a hard time adjusting to the NHL, however the Oilers made the right decision taking the chance on yet another year with the young player. At 23 years old, Lander has plenty of time to shine.
