NBA Rumors: Cleveland Cavaliers interested in Mark Jackson

On Monday, the Cleveland Cavaliers made interim general manager David Griffin their permanent general manager and fired coach Mike Brown.

Joe Kotoch of Pro Basketball Draft believes Mark Jackson is a candidate to replace Brown.

Jackson was fired by the Golden State Warriors last week after a very successful stint with the team. He went 121-109 in three season, including a 51-31 record this season.

Former NBA head coaches Mike D’Antoni, Vinny Del Negro and Alvin Gentry have all been mentioned in connection with the job while current Chicago Bulls’ assistant coach also looks like a potential candidate. The Cavaliers could also decide to chase Steve Kerr and make him the highest paid coach in the league, potentially stealing him away from the New York Knicks.
