Padres’ Carlos Quentin likely to be activated on Tuesday

The fourth place San Diego Padres have been patiently waiting for both infielder Chase Headley and outfielder Carlos Quentin to return to the starting lineup. Quentin started the season on the disabled list and wasn’t expected to be back until at least the middle of May or early June.

Now according to Darren Smith on Twitter, the San Diego Padres are likely to activate Quentin on Tuesday. He’ll be traveling to Cincinnati to meet up with his club and could jump into the mix of things almost immediately.

Quentin missed a decent amount of time last season after breaking his collarbone in a fight with Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Zack Greinke which didn’t look all that bad at first. Of course there was a little bit of a shoulder block thrown by Greinke but both players ended up getting hurt. Carlos finished his minor league assignment’s with a batting average of .167 as he finished 3-18.
