Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher, Jason Grilli, has been on the disabled list since April 25th after suffering an oblique strain.
Yesterday Grilli was able to take a huge step in his recovery and pitched a 25 pitch bullpen. Apparently it went well and is expected to throw a simulated game in the coming days. This will most likely take place in Milwaukee where the Pirates are preparing for a three game stint with the Brewers which starts Tuesday.
Grilli, before his injury, posted a 4.50 ERA and 1.38 WHIP.
Mark Meloncon is currently replacing Grilli with closing duties.
