The South Carolina Gamecocks landed their second commitment in the three days on Sunday when 3-star tight end Kyle Markway gave his pledge to the Gamecocks.
“I chose them because I felt more comfortable there then any other college I visited,” Markway told Wes Mitchell of 24/7 Sports. “The opportunities they are giving me are hard to pass up, like playing early in the SEC and playing under a head coach like (Steve) Spurrier. I feel it’s a great college to be at these days and I feel they are on the move and have a chance to win a national championship soon! I love everything about it!”
The 6’4, 225-pound Markway is from St. Louis, Missouri and attends St. John Vianney High School. He is ranked as the country’s 36th-best tight end prospect, the 14th-best prospect in the state of Missouri and the 1,169th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Markway chose the Gamecocks over offers from Illinois Fighting Illini, Indiana Hoosiers and Iowa Hawkeyes, among others.
