UFC Fight Night 40 medical suspensions: Matt Brown out indefinitely


UFC Fight Night 40 is in the books, and now the participants from this past weekend’s event have learned what their medical suspensions will be. Main event participants Matt Brown and Erick Silva were suspended indefinitely, along with a number of fighters from the preliminary card.

Below are the UFC Fight Night 40 medical suspensions that were handed down by the Ohio Athletic Commission, via MMA Junkie:

  • Matt Brown: Suspended indefinitely pending doctor’s clearance on right elbow. Minimum suspension 45 days.
  • Erick Silva: Suspended indefinitely pending doctor’s clearance on jaw. Minimum suspension 60 days.
  • Lorenz Larkin: Suspended for 60 days (precautionary reasons).
  • Erik Koch: Suspended for 30 days.
  • Ruan Potts: Suspended for 60 days.
  • Ed Herman: Suspended indefinitely pending doctor’s clearance on right hand. Minimum suspension 30 days.
  • Eddie Wineland: Suspended indefinitely pending doctor’s clearance on jaw. Minimum suspension 60 days (TKO loss and stitches in lip area).
  • Johnny Eduardo: Suspended 30 days for unsportsmanlike conduct (throwing his mouthpiece into the stands).
  • Manny Gamburyan: Suspended indefinitely pending doctor’s clearance on right eye.
  • Ben Wall: Suspended for 60 days (precautionary reasons).
  • Anthony Lapsley: Suspended for 60 days (precautionary reasons).
