Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton underwent offseason ankle surgery to strengthen some of the ailing ligaments in his left ankle, which left him in a walking boot for a majority of the offseason. However, Superman now has both of his feet to walk on once again.

Newton posted a message on his Instagram account stating he has had the walking boot removed.

The Panthers signal-caller wrote, “ACEboog1e #BEATS&c1eats thanks for all the prayers and well wishes for a speedy recovery; 1st day out of the BOOT I had to share!! ready for rehab!!”

Newton is still expected to miss OTAs and mini camps, but he should be on track to return for the team’s training camp and his status for the 2014-15 regular season opener is not in any doubt.
